Dressing Right for Your Fitness Training

How and how much you train is no doubt the most important part of your fitness or sports training regime. However, the importance of the proper gear cannot be stressed enough, if you want to get the best results.

Clothing for specific sports is designed according the activity, keeping in mind utmost comfort and the best performance. Newer technologies in sports wear ensure that better clothes are designed and made available. For example, the McDavid Hexpad technology is fast catching on and becoming a very popular choice among athletes.

The most important aspect of fitness and sports clothing is the level of comfort. While professional and serious athletes need highly technical clothing, those of us interested in basic training and work outs, are interested in the quality, comfort and look of our fitness clothing. (more...)

Custom Printed Clothes

Our sense of fashion changes every couple of years. What was once thought to be trendy and fashionable is now seen as out of date. In a world where everyone judges you based on your appearance, if you are not wearing nice clothes you will be looked down upon.

There are many different types of clothing out there. Custom printed clothes are hugely popular in the United States for instance but they are regressing slowly. Depending on where you live and the socio-economic status in your area, one type of clothing may be seen as better than others and vice versa in a different area.

We all wear different types of clothes and there is no right or wrong way to wear them. Clothing is judged too harshly because some people simply cannot afford to wear the best clothes. (more...)

Clothes and Christening Gowns

When we go to the clothes store and purchase them we do not really think about where they came from. Some clothes are made in major factories and others are constructed in sweat shops in third world countries. For the most part it is impossible to distinguish which clothes are made from sweat shop labour and which are made from fair labour. Every time you buy a piece of clothing off the racks you may be supporting underage sweat shops without even knowing it.

This is the chance you take every time you shop at Antz in yer pantz !. Making an article of clothing is very labour intensive and if companies actually had to pay their employees a fair wage than the price of clothing would skyrocket. They keep prices down and quality low with the use of sweat shops and labour camps.

Not all clothes are crafted this way. Some are manufactured in factories on assembly lines and others are even made by high paying unionised workers. The issue as mentioned is that it is impossible to tell the difference apart. (more...)

Dress Your Age?

If you are a lady of a certain age, let's say over forty, you are constantly bombarded with conflicting information. Some sources of advice tell you to dress your age. By that, you can take it to mean, soberly, in classic cuts and neutral colours. These same people tell you that you should not wear short skirts or anything that is too tight-fitting. Stick to classic blouses, dark jeans and camel coats. No wild hair and certainly no shoes that are too high. Definitely you should not do anything to accentuate your middle aged figure unless you have had

Other sources advise you to dress the age you feel. Take note of women such as Madonna who dress how they want to, regardless of age. If you want to wear leather, go for it girl. Knee high boots or a low cut top, no problem. Be as daring as you want and dress in what makes you feel good.

Most of us though, take the middle road. We dress to feel good, but not to draw excessive attention to ourselves. We try and dress a little younger without feeling too young. (more...)

Style that Screams the Hidden You

Wear what you care to, wear what suits, but know why you do so. Trends change but the reason we strive to look our best remains the same. Clothes are armour, our shield against a world that looks on us, that makes decisions on who we are by how we appear.

Aiming to deceive? Dressing up or down? Don what you want and maintain that air of mystery, blocking those eyes from determining who you really are. You are setting out to spark an interest that necessitates the onlooker to let down their guard. Do so with a style that screams of the hidden you.

Taking on the clothing is sufficient but spending so much time on selecting your armour is only half the battle without the added trappings. Appearances depend on all extremities working as one. Pay a visit, say to a Hair Salon in Plymouth, a city small enough that anonymity is avoided and you will stand out. (more...)

Fashion having an increasing influence on girls games

Fashion in the west is now having a major influence on the kinds of casual games being created online. Clothing designs are never more apparent than in the game of ourWorld where 100's of different items of clothing and accessories are designed by fashion designers every month to keep girls entertained in dress up games.

Some of the fashions and clothing items are very eccentric and go way beyond what you would normally see a teenager wearing in the street but the gap between reality and what can be found in fashion related games is narrowing, as girls seek more outrageous and glamourous outfits to where for both partying and hanging out with friends.

ourWorld is making full use of the growing trend towards an increasingly fashion conscious society by producing stunning dresses that girls can only dream about acquiring in reality. Furthermore they have an increasing number of male players joining the game and also seeking the escapism from reality by becoming attractive and well dressed hunks in the world. (more...)

Get a Logo

Whereas t-shirts and jumpers with pictures or large logos on used to be considered unfashionable – think the novelty Christmas jumpers in Bridget Jones diary! - they have come full circle and in today's fashion world, the bigger and more daring the better.

There are many great brands around such as Casual Connoisseur T shirts which have a pretty natty line in t-shirts. And boy are some of these brands loud! For a few years, small was better and people liked the style of tiny, but expensive, labels. This is now seen as old hat.

The trend now is more towards fun clothing, ones that you and your friends can have a laugh at or identify yourself with. The style is much more relaxed and much more comfortable to wear and there are many different designs available. (more...)

A Thoughtful Christmas Gift

If you are looking for an original and thoughtful Christmas gift to give to family and friends this year, then you may wish to consider giving some handmade kids clothing. Although the kids themselves are unlikely to recognise the significance, their parents will do.

Buying handmade kids clothing for either your friends or relatives' kids is a nice gesture on many levels. Kids are less likely to suffer from allergies, as the clothes are not manufactured in a huge factory with many chemicals present. The materials will be of a higher quality, and you will be able to ask the designer exactly what went into making them. In addition, the design will be unique and original.

Another important thing, is that by buying handmade children's clothes, you will be helping to support a small business and designer. Something very important in this day and age! (more...)

The Four Fs of Clothing

Nowadays, clothes normally cover what are termed the four F's in order to meet our requirements. These are fashion, fit, feel, and function. This has changed much from when clothes were first used thousands of years ago, when function would have been the only concern.

Clothes have changed and evolved much to become fashion statements, and in effect, a fashion statement is representative of somebody's position in society. For example, somebody wearing the Goth style of clothing is making a statement of which social group they belong to, and society ladies would never be seen without accessories such as a ladies purses indicating their grouping.

Of course, as well as this fashion statement indicating class or grouping, there is still the functionality of clothes which is highly important. This could be a uniform for the armed forces, or clothes for road working labourers. Each of these styles or ranges has been developed over years to be able to perform a function. (more...)

Pass it Down

It is amazing that if you look back at pictures that were taken of us – or even our parents – so many years ago, we are horrified by what we were wearing as they look so out of fashion. Kids now are wearing more up to date and totally different outfits such as voi clothing and the latest must have.

And yet I can bet anything you like that in a couple of years many of these horror outfits will go full circle and become trendy again.

It may be hard to believe that some of these outfits should be allowed out of the loft again and yet at some point it is inevitable that I will climb into that loft and let them see the light of day. (more...)

Seasons Change

For years we were subjected to the trend of what some call throwaway clothes, that is clothes that were mass produced abroad so cheaply that it did not matter what the quality was like or whether they had to be thrown away after a few wears as they fell apart – not to mention the conditions that the workers who made them had to endure.

Thankfully things are changing now and that type of clothing for many is starting to become a little distasteful for financial and ethical reasons. More classic, good quality clothes such as camel coats, chinos and G-star jeans are coming back into fashion – although if truth be told they never actually went out of fashion.

We are now looking for something more durable in our wardrobe and we now look past whether they will last the season and in fact imagine ourselves wearing them for years to come and even passing them down to our children. (more...)

What Influences Kids Fashion?

Clothes are a major fashion statement for many adults, however, they have become just as fashionable for children too. Children's clothes have as much style, if not more style than adult clothing. From the designer brands that babies and even toddlers can wear to the highest in fashion design and style too.

They are ever changing and go along with whatever is popular culturally in fashion. Both boys and girls kids wear has become as iconic as men's and women's clothing. This is especially true when famous actors, musicians or athletic children are wearing the latest styles and designs by the top designers.

Children's clothes follow the same fashion trends as adult clothing, amazingly. Although this has always occurred at the same time today, more than ever, children's clothes have become smaller versions of adult clothing. (more...)

Clothing Trends Throughout History

The style of clothes has always changed dramatically throughout history. Where clothing styles are now compared to even ten years ago, they are so much different. There are so many styles now available, as well as many throw backs to previous periods of time, such as the sixties and seventies.

Amazingly, these are still as popular as ever. The clothing has also changed based on designers\' visions and what actors or singers are wearing too. Women\'s fashion is usually most notably paid attention to, however over time men\'s fashion has become just as trendy and ever changing as women\'s.

Men still seem to have a more casual style about them that can be worn anywhere. Bench Clothing t-shirts and pullovers can still be worn with a suit jacket and dressier trousers. Men\'s attire has great flexibility to it that is not seen as much with women\'s clothing. (more...)
